💭 What you believe becomes true for you

Published about 2 years ago • 1 min read

Hello Reader,

It’s raining pretty heavily here today as I’m writing this email. I think rainy days are the best time to have a cup of hot coffee. But it’s so sad that I have to skip caffeine for now because it really triggers my anxiety. 😖

How about you, Reader? How are things with you lately?

Anyhow, today I want to talk about “core beliefs”. I really want to talk about this topic on the blog because I've been reading the book You Can Heal Your Life written by Louise Hay.

It’s such an amazing book! Plus, Louise Hay’s voice is so soothing if you listen to the audio book. I’m halfway through the book and I’m learning a lot! 😍

The idea that I really loved from this book is when she wrote that each one of us creates our experiences by our thinking and feeling patterns.

“What we believe about ourselves and about life becomes true for us.”

And that’s why I think examining and identifying our core beliefs is super important because not everything we believe is positive and supports us to flourish.

Sometimes, these beliefs could be the root causes of many of our problems.

In this week’s blog post, we’re going to talk about:

  • what exactly core beliefs are;
  • how core beliefs affect us;
  • and how to identify your negative core beliefs.

Resource:

  • Core Beliefs CBT Formulation

Here’s a worksheet created by Positive Psychology to help you explore your core beliefs by analyzing a situation, a thought, and a resulting feeling, and identify the underlying themes behind your recurring thoughts and feelings.

Make sure to read this blog post first to give you a comprehensive idea of what core beliefs are and how it affects you.

In my next blog post, we’ll learn how to deal with our negative core beliefs and replace them with positive and supportive ones.

That’s all for this week, Reader! Enjoy this blog post! Have a great day and don’t drink too much coffee! ☕😂

PS: In next week's email, I’ll announce more details about the launch of our self-discovery guided journal! It's so exciting! So please, stick around!

Hello Reader, I shared on my Instagram Story my reflection on the past month and I mentioned that I’ve been learning to start trusting my intuition. Intuition, or “gut feeling” is our immediate understanding of something. Listening to our intuition is so important to help us avoid unhealthy situations. One of the signs that you’re ignoring your intuition is when you feel like your life is ungrounded and imbalanced. Since I’ve been learning to tap into my intuition, I thought I’d share with...
